Cirrus Plane Shipments Up 32 Pct. Over Year | Business
Duluth-based Cirrus Aircraft delivered 79 aircraft to customers in the second quarter of 2013, a 32 percent increase from the same period in 2012.
Cirrus also said Tuesday that it shipped a total of 130 planes in the first half of 2013, marking the best half-year delivery performance since 2008. "Momentum at Cirrus, specifically around the Generation 5 SR22 and SR22T, is driving demand for new piston aircraft that is starting to feel closer to pre-recession levels," said Todd Simmons, Cirrus Executive Vice President, in a prepared statement. "These latest performance results confirm strong preference by both individuals and institutions alike for design innovation unique to Cirrus Aircraft."
The company is owned by China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co. and manufactures all of its aircraft in the U.S.
