CHUM Holiday Concert | Community Spirit

The 17th annual CHUM Holiday Concert will be held on Saturday, December 1st at the Mitchell Auditorium, College of St. Scholastica. The concert begins at 7:00 PM. Admission is free, but a free will offering for the support of CHUM will be requested.
According to a press release, the concert will feature local talent. Performers include Bill Bastian, Lon Weaver, Clergy Quartet, Choir of Choirs, and Windchill Brass. Pastors Bill Van Oss from St. Paul’s Episcopal and Cathy Schuyler from Duluth Congregational will serve as Emcees for the event.
Lon Weaver, pianist, is currently the Chaplain at Marshall School in Duluth. Weaver served as co-pastor at Glen Avon Presbyterian Church for 10 years, while serving as an adjunct professor at the College of St. Scholastica teaching courses such as Introduction to Christian Theology and 21st Century Spirituality1. Weaver will be the accompanist at the CHUM Concert.
Bill Bastian, a music instructor at the College of St. Scholastica, will perform the cherished, O Holy Night, and more. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Milton College and a Master’s degree in Vocal Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Bastian has sung leading roles in 39 different operas and has performed in DSSO, Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Boston Concert Opera, and many others2.
