Wintertime Celebration

The Hartley Nature Center will celebrate the Winter Season with it's 7th annual Candlelight Ski, Skate and Showshoe party on Saturday, January 26.

Duluth, MN – Winter is a pretty big deal here in northern Minnesota with many great ways to enjoy it and Hartley Nature Center celebrates the season with a party. Our 7th annual Candlelight Ski, Skate and Snowshoe will be held on Saturday, January 26th from 4 to 7 pm. This event celebrates the cold weather season with this chance to enjoy all it gives us- silent woods, groomed trails, iced ponds, and snowshoe access to unique areas of the park.

Regardless of the snow pack, fun seekers will have the chance to join naturalist led hikes, enjoy a light taco salad dinner served from 5 to 6:30 pm, ice skate on Hartley Pond, visit a winter campsite, learn a little astronomy and of course sip warm drinks while roasting marshmallows over a bonfire. If the snow arrives in time, participants can ski the luminary-lined Hartley cross country trails and hike in snowshoes. The whole family is welcome to join us!

Because this event has gotten so popular and we have limited space, you are urged to pre-register if you want to attend. You can sign up by stopping in at the Nature Center or calling 724-6735 during business hours. There is no cost for Hartley members; there is a $10 fee for non-members.

Hartley Nature Center is a non-profit environmental education organization dedicated to providing opportunities for understanding, stewardship, and appreciation of the natural environment.
