Big Jig for UMD Athletics | Events

The UMD Bulldogs Athletic Department invites you to the annual Big Jig Ice Fishing Tournament on Sunday, February 10 from Noon until 2:00 pm on Pike Lake.

According to a press release, The Big Jig is a family-friendly event that raises over $50,000 in proceeds to benefit student-athlete scholarships for Bulldog Athletics each year. UMD coaches and student-athlete volunteers will serve as event staff at the tournament.

Contest entries are $35/line in advance if bought prior to February 10th. On the day of the event, the cost will be $40/line. A maximum of two lines is allowed per contestant. Online registration is open until February 8, 2013. Sign up soon! The Big Jig is limited to the first 3,000 entries.

Over $50,000 in prizes will be awarded for the top 100 fish! Participants will also be able to win over $500 in door prizes, purchase 50/50 raffle tickets and $5 raffle tickets for a chance to win the big prize of a brand new Yamaha Grizzly 4x4 (need not be present to win.)
