Open House and Adoptathon at Animal Allies Humane Society | Events
Animal Allies Humane Society will be hosting a two-day event on Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13. There will be a variety of family activities for animal lovers.
“Our goal for this event is two-fold,” Rick Sailstad, Executive Director said in a press release. “First, we want to greatly reduce our shelter population in anticipation of the flood of lost, abandoned and surrendered animals that traditionally arrive at our shelters in the spring. Second, would like the public to come up to tour the shelter, see the animals, and learn about our mission. This event celebrates our four-year anniversary of opening the Duluth shelter and we invite the community to visit the shelter they helped build.”
Animal Allies in Duluth has extended its hours for this event and will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday April 12th and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 13th.
Adoption fees will be reduced for the event: Kittens $75.00; Cats (6 months or older) $20.00; and Dog/Puppies $50.00 off regular adoption fees. Additionally, supporters of Animal Allies can help reduce adoption fees even more by going on-line at www.animalallies.net and donating $10 or more toward reducing adoption fees on available animals. Door prizes will be offered for the first 10 dog and cat adoptions each day.
