St. Michael's Students Build Birdhouses | Schools
The fourth and fifth graders at St. Michael's Lakeside School spent a whole Friday morning in March building different types of birdhouses. The school says they constructed around 65 birdhouses in all, including bluebird, robin, tree swallow, house wren, screech owl, wood duck, and wood pecker houses. Each student was able to bring home four different birdhouses. The project was funded by a STEM grant that the fourth and fifth grade received for a teacher-developed unit on birds and conservation.
